Aboard the Jolly Rodger!

Our topic this half term in year 1 is Pirates. To introduce our topic we dressed up and pretended to be pirates for the day! We followed clues and read maps to try and beat Captain Blackbeard to his treasure!

We've also been very busy taking part in lots of Science experiments! To introduce Science week we made our own chemical reaction by making our own lava lamps! We used water, oil, food colouring and Alka-seltzers to create the chemical reaction. We made observations about what happened when we mixed the ingredients together.

The Scientist we've been looking at in year 1 is Sir Isaac Newton. We researched and found out that Isaac Newton discovered gravity! We used a Newton metre to measure the forces acting towards objects around our classroom.
