Earlier this week Year 6 took part in a Victorian Day.
Miss Wilson’s classroom was transformed into a Victorian school room and both our Year 6 classes had the chance to experience what it would be like to attend school in Victorian times.
Discipline in the Victorian era was very strict and even more so in the classroom. Children were asked to recite their 8 times tables, were tested on spellings and had to write using a slate and slate pencil. They also used dip pens and ink. All the children dressed in Victorian costumes and were given traditional Victorian names. Even the Year 6 teachers took part!
It was a fantastic experience, however pupils were very grateful to return to their present day classrooms and teachers!
